If you were ever curious about how many haikus you could get written just by offering some free t-shirts… we have the answer. Our tee design weRobot managed to inspire 862 different haikus written about robots on toplessrobot.com. One fellow named Glitchy Goblin actually went out of his way to pen 70 all by himself and within his 70 – he actually had one written for each of the 51 that appear in our design. Now for the winners.

There was supposed to be only 3 given, but due to the overwhelming response it was decided there needed to be four. Now behold, the glorious and furious four (see official results here).

First up is Endroren with a very clever haiku written in binary code (try this decoder) with a sweet Futurama reference hidden within its gorgeous pattern of 1s and 0s:

01000001 01101100 01101100 00100000 01101000 01110101 01101101 01100001 01101110 01110011 00100000 01101101 01110101 01110011 01110100 00100000 01100100 01101001 01100101 00101110 00001101 00001010 01000101 01101100 01101001 01101101 01101001 01101110 01100001 01110100 01100101 00100000 01110100 01101000 01100101 00100000 01100110 01101100 01100101 01110011 01101000 00100000 01100010 01100001 01100111 01110011 00101110 00001101 00001010 01000111 01100101 01110100 00100000 01110100 01101000 01100101 00100000 01101000 01110101 01101101 01100001 01101110 01101111 01101001 01100100 01110011 00101110

Next up is Jack Burden referencing “The Iron Giant” animated classic:

Iron Giant says,
“I am not a gun, Hogarth.”
Fuck you, you’re a gun.

Cam decided to reference SciFi’s Battlestar Galactica for an appropriately artful composition:

shipped to the sun, our
hist’ry is sung a dirge of
infinite repeat.

Finally, Glitchy Goblin, with just one of his 70 entries:

Don’t disassemble!
I am not a tool for war!
Johnny 5 alive!

We are only posting the four seen here but feel free to peruse the entire thread and all its comments. Also worth noting is that this post set a record for Topless Robot (associated with the NY Village Voice) doubling the previous number of most comments posted to a single story.

Go robots go. Also worth mentioning is the design is also available for women, kid and toddler sizes.
