Today is a wonderful day the block. Leo, one of our own, got himself hitched and we couldn’t be more thrilled. So you can imagine my excitement when I came across this on etsy. This adorable painting clocks in at a miniscule 2½” × 3½” but it is really quite beautiful even at such a […]

Not as long ago as 40 years ago, but just a little over 10 years ago – The Chopping Block adopted the look of NASA for one of our online incarnations. More specific our adopted look embraced the era of Apollo in hopes that a little of that former astro-glory might rub off on our […]

Every once in a while I’ll come by some product that I must email out to the entire studio and beg them to get it for the office.  I think I may have just stumbled upon such a product.  Behold, Lime Robot Love Soap by LoveLeeSoaps. The soap is made from glyerin and shea butter […]

Together again and touring, Phish asked the Chopping Block design a concert poster for their Jones Beach show. Playing off the art deco aesthetic of the Jones Beach of yesteryear, we came up with a poster which is selling like hotcakes. Well, hotcakes or maybe more like special brownies.

I met Bill Gates once… and I didn’t ask him the one question I wanted to. The newly introduced “Bing” logotype (and Armin’s post about it at underconsideration.com) is yet another reminder that I dropped the ball. With the amount of money and time spent building and branding their updated search experience, bing.com, how can […]

Yesterday the kindly postman brought me another dose of design inspiration. A hot off the presses copy of It’s Nice That‘s first print issue. It’s Nice that calls it self a “online archive” of “cutting edge creative work from all over the world”. I’ve been a fan of their daily doses of diverse art and […]

Since being reincarnated as a designer (I was a hummingbird in my previous life, and Houdini the life before that), every night before going to bed I develop an insatiable appetite for design inspiration, so I prowl the interwebs for the life-blood… mainly in screenprinted form. For the time being, Good Ole Jesse, Billy Badass […]
